Description
Pineapple agua fresca is a naturally sweet and hydrating drink made with fresh pineapple, cold water, and a touch of sweetener. This light, tropical beverage is perfect for hot days, pairing beautifully with both sweet and savory meals.
Ingredients
3 lbs fresh pineapple (about 4 cups), peeled and chopped
4 cups cold filtered water
1–2 tablespoons sweetener (cane sugar, honey, or agave
Instructions
Cut the pineapple into chunks, discarding the skin and core.
Pour the cold water into a blender.
Add the chopped pineapple to the blender.
Blend on high speed for about 2 minutes until smooth and lightly frothy.
Taste and add sweetener, starting with 1 tablespoon. Blend again if needed.
If the mixture is pulpy, strain it through a fine mesh sieve.
Transfer to a pitcher and chill for 30–60 minutes.
Serve over ice and garnish with mint or pineapple slices.
Notes
For a twist, add a splash of lime or coconut water.
Store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days in a sealed jar.
Use a high-powered blender to avoid needing to strain the juice.
