Description

Christmas Sprinkle Buttermilk Bread is a soft, buttery holiday loaf studded with red and green sprinkles. Perfect for festive breakfasts, brunches, or gifting, this bread brings color and joy to any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Bread:

1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour (210g)

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients:

½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled

1 cup granulated sugar (200g)

2 large eggs

1 cup buttermilk (240ml)

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Add-ins & Topping:

½ cup red and green sprinkles (jimmies style)

Optional: 1 tablespoon coarse sugar + additional sprinkles for garnish

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment.

Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.

In a large bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.

Alternate adding flour mixture and buttermilk to wet ingredients, starting and ending with flour. Mix gently until just combined.

Fold in sprinkles carefully to prevent color streaks.

Pour batter into prepared pan, smooth the top, and sprinkle with coarse sugar and extra sprinkles if desired.

Bake 50–55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Cool 10 minutes in pan, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Measure flour carefully to avoid a dense loaf.

Fold sprinkles gently to keep colors intact.

Do not overmix the batter to maintain a tender crumb.

Tent with foil if the top browns too quickly.

Cool completely before slicing to prevent crumbling.

Wrap tightly or store in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for longer storage.
