Apple Fritter Bread is a warm, cozy loaf filled with sweet apple chunks, cinnamon-sugar swirls, and topped with a light glaze. Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a snack, this easy-to-make bread brings the comforting flavors of fall into your kitchen.
Ingredients
1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
2/3 cup (133g) granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour
1 3/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup (120ml) milk
2 medium apples, peeled, cored & diced (mix of tart & sweet)
1/3 cup (67g) brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
For the Glaze:
1/2 cup (60g) powdered sugar
1–2 tbsp milk
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon; set aside.
Toss diced apples with 1 tsp cinnamon and 1 tbsp granulated sugar; set aside.
In a large bowl, beat butter and granulated sugar until smooth and airy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk flour and baking powder.
Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, alternating with milk, starting and ending with dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
Pour half the batter into the pan, sprinkle half the cinnamon-sugar, and layer half the apples. Repeat with remaining batter, cinnamon-sugar, and apples.
Bake 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
While bread bakes, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make glaze.
Cool bread 10 minutes in pan, transfer to wire rack, and drizzle glaze over cooled bread.
Notes
Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for balanced flavor.
Do not overmix batter to avoid dense bread.
Bread can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature, or refrigerated for up to a week.
Optional: add 1/3 cup chopped walnuts or pecans for extra texture.
